Our Hudson Cottage is our first house plan to feature a Main Floor Master Bedroom suite and the opportunity for one level living. And this home design continues our tradition of combining the best of the old and the new. We have created an open and efficient floor plan and wrapped it with a contemporary cottage exterior. This is one simple, cool, and unique house plan.
A steeply pitched front gable with a wrap around front porch provides an inviting and dramatic statement for this home. The exterior incorporates repeating steep gable roof lines with shed roof forms, slender tapered columns, and smart crisp detailing to give this house plan a distinctive and unique cottage exterior.
Inside the entry we created a foyer with space for bench and coat hooks. The front facing den or “away room” offers an intimate environment to read a book or catch a good movie. The mud room is smartly placed between the garage and den providing a nice buffer zone. Beyond lies a great room with its open and connected Living, Kitchen and Eating areas. A vaulted ceiling runs all the way from front to back of house above the den, dining and living spaces. Behind the garage lies the Private zone of the Hudson Cottage House Plan, accommodating the Master Suite and an additional bedroom and bathroom.
Foundation
The Hudson Cottage house plan comes with a full basement foundation. The basement is unfinished but indicates rough in locations for a future bathroom. The plan could easily be adapted by your local Architect or Builder to accommodate lookout, walkout or other lot configurations.
