Our Apple Valley Four Square House Plan is a Prairie School was designed by Ron Brenner of ron brenner architects in Stillwater, Minnesota. The home design, which features a modern open floor plan was inspired by the many simple, yet unique and elegant American Foursquare style homes found in many early 20th century neighborhoods.
This house plan’s exterior demonstrates a creative twist on the classic prairie school version of the foursquare. Here a subtle break in roof pitch combined with beautifully proportioned dormers, well thought out window patterns and careful detailing helps to create a distinctively 21st century variation of the style.
Inside the main floor accommodates kitchen, living and dining areas within its open yet cozy floor plan. The garage is set well back from the front of the house, showing its respect to the distinctive foursquare massing. The stair leading up has an expanded mid landing fitted with bookshelves and a window seat. Continuing upstairs the three bedrooms (including the master suite) are neatly placed beneath this homes simple and unique roof line.
Foundation
The Apple Valley Four Square house plan comes with a partial Lookout foundation. The basement is unfinished but indicates rough in locations for future spaces. The plan could easily be adapted to accommodate full basement, walkout or other lot configurations.
