Our Bayport Bungalow home design is a somewhat more traditional variation of ourBayport Cottage house plan. This may be a simple and small house plan (we prefer “right sized”) yet is offers surprisingly generous room sizes for a house under 1800 square feet. And with all the convenience of a modern open floor plan. The style says “Bungalow”. But this home offers so much more than those cramped bungalows of the past.
Enter the home through it’s generous front porch. The entry way projects just a bit into the porch. In this way the entry zone does not interfere with the interior spaces. Once inside the Living, Dining and Kitchen areas are all open to each other, yet distinctively zoned. The positioning of the garage (well back from the front of the home) allows natural light to filter the spaces from all directions. This also provides for a smart mudroom connection with the house at the back corner.
Upstairs the 3 bedrooms (including the master suite) and the shared bath are efficiently organized around the central hall. The front 2 bedrooms have large windows facing the front yard with smaller windows on the side walls. The charm provided by the sloped ceilings remind you of this homes Bungalow house plan “roots”.
Foundation
The Bayport Bungalow house plan comes with a full basement foundation. The basement is unfinished but indicates rough in locations for a future bathroom. The plan could easily be adapted to accommodate side lookout, side walkout or other lot configurations.
