Our Lutsen Colonial house plan was designed by Ron Brenner of ron brenner architects in Stillwater, Minnesota. Larson Brenner; who has been featured in a number of National and Regional publications, has gained a reputation for designing charming and functional modestly sized homes. This simple design was inspired by the many classic colonial revival style homes that can be found in many neighborhoods throughout the United States. The design features a floor plan that is open, yet intimate and a screen porch to relax and enjoy.
This home plan’s exterior is classic Colonial. Simple in form and rich in detail... When a house has such a simple form it is very important to get the details right - and this design succeeds in every way. Beautifully proportioned windows with shutters, planter boxes, and a subtle bump at the second floor, a graceful entry porch and a red brick base all work together to create this simple and elegant composition.
The main floor accommodates dining, kitchen and living areas within an open floor plan. A den is placed to the side of the foyer and offers a quiet space to escape. The stair; positioned in the center of the plan provides convenient access to the three generous upstairs bedrooms.
Foundation
The Lutsen Colonial house plan comes with a full basement foundation. The basement is unfinished but indicates rough in locations for a future bathroom. The plan could easily be adapted to accommodate lookout, walkout or other lot configurations.
