Our Willernie Farmhouse was designed by Architect Ron Brenner in Stillwater, Minnesota. Mr. Brenner; who’s work has been featured in a number of National and Regional publications, has gained a reputation for designing charming and functional modestly sized homes. This unique small house plan was inspired by the many modest farmhouse homes that can be found across the midwest and northeast.
This house plan’s exterior combines farmhouse and shingle styles along with a few modern twists. The front gable with hipped front porch pays tribute to classic farmhouse forms. The flared shingled wall surface above horizontal siding treatment remembers the shingle style. Window patterns and the exterior color pallette add a modern touch. The result is a home that is at once sophisticated and inviting.
The main floor accommodates dining, kitchen and living areas within an open and efficient floor plan. Laundry and mud areas are smartly positioned to the side of the entry. The central staircase provides convenient access to the three upstairs bedrooms.
All in all this is one smart and unique small house plan. A little bit of grandmas house with a lot of modern space planning.
Foundation
The Willernie Farmhouse plan comes with a full basement foundation. The basement is unfinished but indicates rough in locations for a future bathroom. The plan could easily be adapted to accommodate lookout, walkout or other lot configurations.
